The Platten retirement center in Meilen is getting an additional house for its residents. Following the redesign of the outdoor area, residents will find plenty of space to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. Simple concrete and asphalt surfaces lead through the spacious grounds, while comfortable benches provide seating in the open air at various corners. Great importance is attached to biodiversity. Near-natural planting and natural elements such as piles of dead wood, clay mounds and sand lenses offer native animals and insects natural food and ideal nesting sites.
A place of power by the water
The small natural pond will be a particular highlight of the retirement center's landscaping. It can already be seen and will offer residents and their visitors a secluded spot by the water. With a view of Lake Zurich, this area blends in perfectly with its surroundings.
