We give Rapperswil-Jona flowers for Christmas

Do you like the blog? Let us know.

Every day we work in nature, with nature. Our gardens are alive and invite you to linger. We bring the green back to the front door.

Together with the nature conservation association Rapperswil-Jona "natur!" we bring wildflower meadows back to the city. Wildflower meadows provide habitat for a variety of insects and thus actively promote biodiversity.

As a Christmas present, we are providing the natur! association with around CHF 20,000 in the form of labor and materials to create two wildflower areas totaling 2000m2.

Thanks to the cooperation of all customers, clients and business partners, these wildflower meadows are made possible at all. They all contribute to bringing a piece of nature to Rapperswil-Jona. For this we thank you very much and wish you all happy holidays.

Area A: Holzwies

The existing lawn was peeled off and drained. A wildflower seed mixture was sown on the freed-up area. In addition, a gravel pile of boulders and tree remnants provides an ideal dwelling for lizards and other small animals.

Area B: Schachen

Here, too, the ruderal area with crushed moraine gravel and an old tree stump becomes a small animal mansion. Two strips of grass of 4×25 meters each were peeled off and sown with wildflowers.
