When winter approaches, it's time to winterise the pool professionally. The right procedure will protect your pool technology from frost damage and ensure that the pool is thoroughly cleaned at the same time. This way, your swimming paradise is prepared for the cold season.
Remove pool robot
The pool robot must be removed from the water and stored in a dry place protected from the sun and frost at temperatures above 5°C. If the pool robot is not used over the winter months, make sure that there is no more water in it. The filter basket and the plates should be thoroughly cleaned and the cable carefully rolled up.
Different pool technology
The various systems require appropriate winterisation measures for the product. With the proven Living Pool technology with the model PhosTec Upstream For example, only flushing is recommended.
With the model PhosTec Ultra various steps are necessary for winterisation. The PhosTec Ultra filter should be winterised by the first frost at the latest.
- Empty the pressurised filter and take it out of operation.
- Backwash the PhosTec Ultra filter material via the 6-way valve and empty the pipes.
- Switch off the filter pump.
- Empty the PhosTec Ultra filter tank by setting the control lever on the 6-way valve to level 3 āCirculateā and opening the drain plug at the bottom of the tank so that the water can flow out of the tank.
- Empty the pipework of the filter circuit.
- Open the bleed valves on the 6-way valve and place the screw connections with the seals on the filter so that they are not forgotten in the spring.

Laying indent pads
Laying ice pressure pads prevents possible damage to the pool wall due to pressure from ice formation. The ice pressure pads are fixed to the edge of the pool and filter basin in a longitudinal and transverse direction.
Cleaning and winterising the slatted cover
Depending on the system and situation, a safety or winter cover should be fitted. Impurities and especially leaves should be removed before winterisation. The tannic acid in the leaves could otherwise lead to brown discolouration on the pool cover. A pool cover that is left on the water surface during the winter months should not be moved or walked on during this time. A layer of snow should not form on the pool cover, as this can push the cover below the water surface and damage the profiles.
