After various submissions, we looked at the projects again and again, discussed them and finally decided on a project that we would like to support in spring 2023. We are delighted to be designing a new play area for the Schnickelschnack nature play group.
Excerpt from the nature play group's Christmas application
We were delighted when we received the email from the nature play group with a detailed description of their passion project:
"The Schnickelschnack forest playgroup has been in existence for 20 years and is based in Jona/SG. Every year we accompany three to four groups of 10-12 children in the forest, climbing, working, building fires, balancing, hammering, etc.
The "GemeinsamStark" association supports the forest playgroup and has more than 100 nature-loving members who are interested in enabling their children to experience the four seasons and the four elements of water, fire, earth and air in nature with all their senses. As our forest playground on Tägernaustrasse is already getting on in years, we are now looking for fresh, sustainable ideas for the design of the playground."
First visit to the forest playgroup in January 2023
After planning and organizing our work for the forest playgroup, we started work in March. a lot of wood was delivered to create the new seating area. In addition, the loose fence is being replaced to ensure greater safety. The new play area is quickly taking shape. Individual storage elements at the central meeting point were also rebuilt. In addition, the fence at the entrance to the nature play group was also redesigned.
In May, we were invited to a delicious forest aperitif. Thank you very much for this wonderful project! We wish the leaders and the children lots of fun.
