Rosenstadt Rapperswil-Jona is being given a new housing estate called ā€žRosentorā€œ. This will create a diverse mix of 40 new 2.5 to 5.5 room flats at the foot of the Meierberg. Four blocks of flats will be built in total.

Creation of access paths and protection from wind and weather

Our work began at the end of March 2023 and our team only started work on the surrounding area once the apartment blocks had been completed. This included laying the access paths, which were prepared and asphalted in various stages by our surfacing group.

To protect the faƧades of the new apartment blocks from rain, we covered the faƧade strip with rubble. At the same time, the strip also helps with water drainage.

A harmonious environment for young and old

The open-plan flats will have a suitable garden area and harmonious surroundings. Between the houses and away from the street, a courtyard is being created that has something to offer for all age groups. Concrete seating elements invite you to spend cosy summer afternoons in the shade of the trees. A striking rose gate will be a characteristic feature of the housing estate.

In future, the children will have a playground right on their doorstep. They can let off steam on the climbing frame and improve their balance at the same time.

PROGRESS OF THE ISSUE

Roses and other plants for the new housing estate

The planting strips on the upper level are already thriving. The blue-violet flowers of the meadow cranesbill and the bright yellow colour of the coneflower are particular eye-catchers. The last plants are also still finding their place in this housing estate. Ground cover roses are also planted to honour the rose gate.

The first owners and tenants have been living in the new development since spring 2023. The project should be completed at the end of this year, after the last plants have been given their future home.
