This clearly laid out garden bordered a steep slope. From year to year, the ground slipped a little further and the area became smaller and smaller. A retaining wall at the edge of the plot has made it possible to significantly enlarge the outdoor area. Where there was previously a seating area right at the edge of the garden, a spacious lawn with a conservatory and fountain has now been created. A low-maintenance planting strip gently frames the property and accompanies visitors through the entire garden.

A fountain as a central design element
The client wanted a Mediterranean ambience with the element of water. After the redesign, the garden was to be inviting and cosy, which was achieved not only through the new conservatory, but also through the planting and choice of materials. The natural stone chosen for the wall, the fountain and the small platforms in front of the house entrance created the desired Mediterranean flair. The fountain at the end of the lawn gives the garden depth and forms the centre of the garden. Embedded in shrubs and perennials, the gentle splashing is not only a visual but also an acoustic highlight. Thanks to the shrubs behind it, the surroundings fade unnoticed into the background.
Easy-care planting for relaxation
It is the planting that creates a sense of space in the open air. The border of the garden has a flowing effect thanks to the shrubs and perennials of different heights. The contrast between the clear trunks of the solitary trees, the lush Osmanthus burkwoodii globes and the wild shrubs by the fountain creates exciting visual relationships. The pink summer liana and the hydrangeas that bloom white in summer add colour to the garden. The laid turf, which is maintained by a robotic mower, is already firmly rooted to the ground. The lawn opens up the garden and visually enlarges the area.
