Before the garden remodelling, the family garden consisted mainly of a lawn surrounded by a privacy screen. This meant that the outdoor space could not be optimally utilised. For this reason, the clients decided to realise their own personal oasis of well-being with a Mediterranean flair.

Bathing paradise with Living Pool

As you enter the garden, you are greeted by the shimmering water of the Living Pool. The anthracite-coloured PP prefabricated basin invites you to swim and relax. The four-step staircase allows a pleasant descent into the cool refreshment.

As the name suggests, the water is heated using the Living Pool Technology purified. A biofilter removes phosphate from the water, preventing the formation of algae. The result is naturally purified, crystal-clear water that does not irritate the eyes or skin. The anthracite-coloured skimmer pool further intensifies the blue colour, making the urge for a refreshing swim even stronger.

Warm colours for that Mediterranean holiday feeling in the garden

To loosen up the lawn, our customer decided to lay part of the area with travertine slabs. The porous limestone immediately makes you feel like you're on holiday in the south. Its strong character lends the garden a unique Mediterranean flair. The family can now enjoy their meals together right in front of the living room. What's more, the lawn no longer needs to be walked on, as a narrow path leads around the house.

The light colour of the travertine slabs blends harmoniously into a wooden deck made of Sipo. This radiates a warm atmosphere and creates a clear room layout thanks to the slight elevation in relation to the rest of the open-air living room. Right next to it is a small space for two deckchairs, which invite you to sunbathe. Next to it is a seating area, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the existing fountain. The proximity to the Living Pool and the gentle lapping of the water turn this area into an oasis of calm, allowing you to forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Creating new spaces

Planting concept of the garden

Much of the existing planting has been retained, particularly the hedge behind the fountain. Nevertheless, specific changes were made that have a great effect. A small planting island provides a gentle transition between the three different ground coverings. The eye-catcher of the garden is the Japanese fan maple, which is strategically placed between the various seating and lounging areas and the Living Pool. The eye is automatically drawn to it, regardless of where you are relaxing. Its underplanting creates a green oasis within the outdoor living room by allowing a seamless transition to the leaves of the maple.

The different floor coverings create new spaces in this oasis of well-being. While the lawn offers space to run around and play, the characterful limestone slabs create another level. A dining area has been placed here, which can be accessed directly from the living room. Thanks to the existing roof and the chosen slabs, a gentle transition is created between indoors and outdoors.

The warm wooden deck also provides the perfect place to relax and unwind in the open air. The small step creates another level, which lends a certain tension to the outdoor space design. The overall appearance of the bathing paradise is emphasised by the Living Pool so that the whole family can spend time together in the new outdoor living room.
