This garden is one of the 50 most beautiful private gardens in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It was honoured with the «Gardens of the Year 2022» award by Callwey Verlag.

Once remodelled, this detached house garden offers a harmonious swimming paradise in a natural setting. The natural pool, which is treated without chemicals using the proven Living Pool Technology is located in the centre of the garden and is framed by lush and natural planting.

Harmonious bathing oasis with cosy spots

The focal point of the garden is the newly built natural pool with its impressive blue colour. The naturally purified pool ensures swimming fun without chemicals, while two attractive waterfall spouts create a gentle and calming ripple. The wooden pool surround frames the pool and is suitable for lounging and sitting by the water. The spacious wooden deck also leaves plenty of room for sunbathing and a cosy spot with a table, chairs and parasol right by the pool.

An existing magnolia tree on the side of the garden has been preserved and provides pleasant shade. The existing exposed concrete walls, which frame the garden in a simple way, have been perfectly incorporated into the garden through the planting. The lush and loose planting around the pool breaks up the straight lines and connects the architecture with nature. Three espalier trees conceal one side of the wall and blend in with the trees on the neighbouring plot.

Shade for cosy hours by the natural pool

The wooden deck was also extended under the existing canopy at the corner of the house. From this dining area, you can keep an eye on the pool and the rest of the garden and spend cosy hours in a harmonious atmosphere. The shrub roses provide colour here and break up the straight lines.

For particularly hot days, there is a cosy shady spot in the far corner on the other side of the garden. Attractive natural stone slabs next to the pool provide the path to the shady area and are particularly effective after the grass has been cut. From here, you can see two beautiful ironwood trees, their clear trunks rising into the sky from the lush shrubs and grasses.

A blue jewel among the plants

Natural habitat for animals

Proximity to nature is particularly important to the client. When it came to planting, particular emphasis was therefore placed on a natural and varied selection of plants that provide a natural habitat for animals. Woody and flowering shrubs as well as fruit trees and berry bushes attract numerous bees and butterflies, while the flower meadow on the side of the garden also provides a home for many other insects. For this reason, the client also refrains from cutting the meadow until the end of June. The contrast between the wild flower meadow and the pool area with its clean lines is an absolute highlight.

Colourful accents in the water garden

The varied planting of woody plants, flowering shrubs and berry bushes as well as flowering shrubs and fruit trees provides a natural habitat for animals and insects and creates interesting and colourful accents in individual places. The existing rose bed in the middle of the flower meadow has been left as it is and provides a colourful eye-catcher. A lush rose bush is also a special highlight at the covered seating area by the house during the summer months. Around the pool, the planting of grasses and flowering shrubs also emphasises the love of nature. Colourful flowers alternate with grasses to create interesting eye-catchers. The love of nature is particularly noticeable in this green oasis
