The large plot of land offered too little usable space and was high-maintenance. A solution was therefore sought that would adapt to the slope. The space gained was extended with Living Pool and a large play area for the family. The colour and material concept of the existing paving was a given, as not all the paving around the house was to be redone. We therefore orientated ourselves on the existing materials and completed the garden accordingly. This made it possible to realise an atmospheric garden with a consistent material concept.
The family garden before and after
As you can clearly see in the pictures, the steep embankment with wild shrubs, which previously prevented the area from being used, has been removed. Now the family garden shines with the open area including Living Pool. The retaining wall behind the swimming pool has significantly enlarged the garden. The green lawn also offers the children plenty of space to play.
Before and after the remodelling
Everything a family garden needs
Following the redesign, the dream garden can now be accessed via two different staircases. The garden immediately casts a spell over you, regardless of which side you enter from. The clever layout transforms the large area into an open-air space. The naturally cleaned Living Pool is clearly at the centre of the family garden, which is framed by the wall and a modern wooden deck.
It was important to the family to create a mixture of clean lines and an intricate garden, as the outdoor living space was to become a meeting place for family and friends. Generous lawn areas were also planned so that the children could let off steam properly. Thanks to the new Living Pool, the trampoline and the climbing dome, the garden is a real highlight for the children.
Sufficient peace and quiet is also provided: a lounge by the pool and by the house offer plenty of places to retreat for a chat or a read. Individual lightweight chairs can be easily placed wherever you feel like relaxing.
Spectacular delivery of the Living Pool
Due to the steep location, realising the redesign was not easy. „The slope posed a challenge in terms of statics and construction, as the access road did not allow for all machines. Thanks to our large fleet of machinery, we were nevertheless able to ensure ideal implementation,“ says Daniel Egli. Instead of a lorry, we had to use a helicopter from HELISWISS here.
The pool was placed at the foot of the hill, where the helicopter was already parked. The pool was then secured and flown directly into the garden. The pool was slowly brought into position above the prepared excavation. The team was able to turn the pool into the correct position thanks to attached ropes before it was finally placed.
Planting concept around the Living Pool
The client's wish was to create an atmospheric and low-maintenance planting scheme. In the end, many different and varied plants were used:
