Expansion of the rose garden Rapperswil-Jona

Do you like this reference? Please let us know.

The rose garden on the upper Bahnhofstrasse has existed since 1984 and was created on the initiative of Hans Rathgeb, the former president of the beautification association Rapperswil. It is one of four rose gardens and makes a significant contribution to the townscape of the rose city of Rapperswil-Jona.

The rose garden has now been renovated and extended. At the western end of the garden, a large rose bed has been created with a metal construction that draws the shape of a rose blossom in the bed. The planned benches around it are surrounded by stelae, on which climbing roses grow up and form a green roof over time. In addition to the climbing roses, the planting is complemented by shrub roses, peonies, artemisia, larkspur, lavender and other plants. The Erni fountain, which today stands in the western part of the garden, was moved to the eastern end.
