This modern residential development is being built in Rapperswil-Jona near the Obersee. Additional houses have been added to existing apartment blocks to create a large residential neighbourhood with an inviting and natural inner courtyard. The green inner courtyard will form the centre of the development and provide an open-air recreation area for young and old. There will also be space for seating and a fire pit. A variety of play equipment will round off the family-friendly residential neighbourhood. The extended underground car park beneath the inner courtyard requires an environment design that is adapted to the statics, yet blends into the cityscape and harmonises with the residential buildings. These requirements are met with simple composite stone paving as access paths and playful gravel surfaces.
Natural landscaping
The newly designed inner courtyard blends in beautifully with the cityscape of Rapperswil-Jona and supports biodiversity with its planting of predominantly native plants. The proximity to the lake and nature should be clearly perceptible through the green surrounding design. While bordered plant troughs provide fresh greenery in the inner courtyard, a spacious play area around the entire site rounds off the green landscaping.
