We are celebrating our 80th anniversary and are proud to successfully lead and further develop our family business in the 3rd generation. Eighty years of company history shape what the egli jona ag This is what makes it today. For 80 years, gardens and living spaces have been created under our name, tailored to people and their needs. We don't see it as a given that we are now operating as a third-generation family business, but rather as a great privilege. We wholeheartedly carry forward the values and ethos upon which our company was founded – and we develop them for the future with our own initiative, responsibility, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Walter Egli founded Egli Gartenbau AG Stäfa in 1946. Walter and Heidi Egli had five sons, all of whom learnt the gardening trade. Sons Walter (junior) and Ueli took over the management of the company, as the three younger brothers were still in training at the time.
In 1977, Ueli Egli founded the Egli Gartenbau AG Wagen branch on the upper end of Lake Zurich. 15 years later, the branch became an independent public limited company. From 1992, the companies operated with the same corporate identity, but were independent companies. After further healthy years of growth, the office building in Wagen near Jona was built in 1996. A large extension in 1998 expanded the infrastructure of Egli Gartenbau AG Wagen. The company also moved into a warehouse on the industrial site in Jona for its staff, vehicles and machinery.
On 1 January 2006, Egli Gartenbau AG Wagen is given a new face and a new name. egli jona ag enters the future with a fresh and innovative image. In June, the company moves into the newly built warehouse with integrated offices on the industrial site in Jona.
Ueli Egli and Sandra Egli have three children, all of whom are also learning the „green profession“. With Christian Egli and Daniel Egli, the 3rd generation of the gardening family took over the reins at egli jona ag on 10 October 2010. Their father Ueli Egli will continue to provide advice and support as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
We are also ISO-certified in the areas of quality management, environmental management and occupational safety (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
The egli jona team
We are delighted with the demand for high-quality gardens and terraces, which we can only realise with the help of our employees. The team has grown to over 100 people. We are constantly developing as a team and always try to challenge our status quo by involving our employees.
Environmental aspects
As a company, we also bear responsibility towards our environment. Especially in a profession so closely linked to nature, environmental aspects are particularly important to us. Starting with waste separation, economical fuel use, efficient resource planning, and the preferred use of battery-powered devices, we aim to carry out our work in an environmentally friendly manner. When building our gardens, we also pay attention to sustainability, whether in the selection of plants or through chemical-free cleaning our pool facilities.
